Who are Siberian cats?

The Siberian cat belongs to the so-called aboriginal breeds, which were created by nature itself in accordance with their habitat conditions.

The Neva Masquerade cat differs from the Siberian only in its color. Color-point (to put it simply - Siamese), a very elegant color and bright blue eyes, have truly become the adornment of the Siberian breed.

Its representatives are distinguished by good health and high life expectancy. This is a very large (by cat standards) animal, reaching 6-10 kg in weight. Cats are much smaller and sleeker than cats, but cats have a softer and more flexible character.

Wealth, aesthetics, and russian soul

The Siberian cat is a breed created by nature itself. It has long existed, formed naturally, on the territory of Serbia and the Urals, a breed that has been known since the time of Peter the Great.

The gene responsible for long hair was presumably inherited from Angora cats during the Mughal Empire.

Later, thanks to Russian merchants, Siberian cats spread throughout the country. They could be found both in palaces and in the hut of a simple peasant. It is believed that the Siberian cat is the hero of many folk tales and epics.

The breed received official recognition only at the end of the 20th century: in 1987 it was first registered in the Kotofey felinological club, and in 1992 it was registered in the World Organization of Cat Fanciers and a standard was approved.
